It sucks to be (former) Western Kentucky basketball coach Ken McDonald. His team just lost in overtime to Louisiana-Lafayette--and the Ragin' Cajuns had six players on the court to do it! The referees completely missed it. Now, McDonald is fired. The video is below. What should happen to the result of this game?

Obviously, the game would have still been tied if Lafayette won by two.  However, the problem is that a technical foul should have been called because the Cajuns had six men on the floor.  Western Kentucky should have been awarded two free throws.

Yup, this sounds right to me. This is outrageous that they missed it. I don't care if the coach has a job or not, but those refs shouldn't. How does that not stick out like a sore thumb?

I obviously didn't watch video, I simply read the very "informative" post.

The video speaks for itself. But as BurrellFan1 said, it was a tie game when the six players were on the court, and yes a technical foul could have been called.

Western Kentucky is 5-11, which may have more to do with the coach's firing than anything else, but it is still a tough way for him to go.
