I realize power rankings are fairly useless, but I also find the varying perspective of fans fascinating. So far this season it's been a two team battle between the Red Sox and Angels at the top of our rankings (of course there's those silly Yanks fans who continue to vote them first), but at this unofficial midseason point I'm betting we're going to have a third team into the fold. You'd like to think a Tigers sweep over the Red Sox would resonate even with fans from Boston. So let me hear your Top 10 teams at the break. Rank as you wish, I'll sorting mine by who I'd pick to win the World Series at this stage.
1. Tigers I assumed Detroit would begin to struggle with a depleted bullpen (Zumaya), but even with Todd Jones off and on struggles the Tigs have rallied the last week to beat Cleveland and sweep Boston. You clean up the team I thought was best, you get the top spot. They're my pick today to win it all.
2. Red Sox
3. Angels
4. Indians
5. Padres Had to have an NL representative this high, but it's safe to assume the league won't win the WS
