The Detroit Tigers and Los Angeles Angels loaded up their teams last year with the addition of several star players. The Angels signed Albert Pujols and CJ Wilson in 2011. The Tigers locked down Prince Fielder and added Omar Infante and Anibal Sanchez through trades. While the additions to the team didn’t seem to help the Angels, the Tigers made it to the World Series.
Both teams are already making headlines in 2012 with Detroit signing Torii Hunter and LA signing Josh Hamilton. These new additions to the roster may be just what either team needs to win that ring. On the other hand some people would say either team already had the talent last season to win but couldn’t get it done.
With both teams dishing out huge contracts it’s safe to say that either team will be a force to be reckoned with in the AL. Whether or not they will win a ring this year is tough to say. The Yankees year after year bring in all stars with huge contracts but they don’t win all the time. Either way it’s safe to say that 2013 will be an exciting year for baseball.
