Familiar faces at the top [MLB Power Rankings]

Last week, the Yankees took over the top spot in our weekly Power Rankings. 

This week, they're still playing pretty well, but they've been bumped off by another team that we've seen in the top spot quite a few times already this season.

There are a few more changes along the way, so be sure to check it out and let me know what you think.

Without further ado, here are this week's rankings:

1. Texas Rangers (Last week: 3) - They dropped a bit last week, but they've been at or near the top of the rankings all year, and for good reason. This is a monster offense, with a respectable pitching staff.

2. New York Yankees (1) - The Yankees dropped a little bit, but it's only out of respect to the Rangers. The Yanks are still on a roll, and they're looking good to take the tough AL East once again.

3. Los Angeles Dodgers (2) - They're cooling off a bit, with only 3 wins in their last 10 games, but they're still in control of their division and the best team in the National League, even with their best player injured.

4. Washington Nationals (6) - Bryce Harper check: The uber-phenom is currently hitting .289/.367/.497, has shown some nice speed with 7 steals, and has 7 HR in his first 50 MLB games. Not too shabby.

5. Baltimore Orioles (5) - Pencil in Adam Jones for the All Star game. He might not get the start, but the numbers say he deserves it. He's definitely earning his new contract so far, and the O's appreciate it.

6. Tampa Bay Rays (7) - David Price became the first 10-game winner of 2012. The Rays' offense isn't all that impressive, but their rotation is one of the best in baseball, and is carrying them to playoff contention so far.

7. Cincinnati Reds (4) - Johnny Cueto is having an incredible season, and is on the short list of potential All Star starting pitcher candidates for the NL. That's a huge reason the Reds are leading the NL Central right now.

8. LA Angels of Anaheim (8) - Mike Trout and Mark Trumbo are two of the best young hitters in the league, and Albert Pujols is finally heating up. Also, Jered Weaver and CJ Wilson are 2nd and 3rd in the AL in ERA, respectively.

9. San Francisco Giants (9) - Matt Cain and Buster Posey could be the starting battery mates in the All Star game if all continues to go well for them, even though Posey isn't having as good a year as Carlos Ruiz or Yadier Molina.

10. Pittsburgh Pirates (12) - Andrew McCutchen has been an absolute monster for the Pirates, and currently leads the team in: hits, runs, doubles, triples, home runs, stolen bases, batting average, on base percentage, and slugging percentage. Wow.

11. New York Mets (14) - RA Dickey finally allowed an earned run last night, snapping a streak that had previously been 42 and 2/3 innings. The knuckleballer is an early Cy Young candidate, and has been outstanding.

12. Boston Red Sox (15) - They just traded Kevin Youkilis, and that leaves David Ortiz as the only remaining player from the 2004 World Series team that broke their 86-year drought. It had to happen, though, since there was no place for Youkilis.

13. Atlanta Braves (10) - Now that Brandon Beachy is undergoing Tommy John surgery and will be out for the season, the Braves will have to find someone to replace his elite level production. It won't be easy.

14. Chicago White Sox (11) - The acquisition of Youkilis fills their biggest need, since 3B had been a black hole for them so far. But will it be enough? If Paul Konerko keeps playing the way he has, it might be.

15. Arizona Diamondbacks (17) - They're on a 4-game winning streak right now, and have won 13 of their last 19. It looks like they might be coming together, and they're only 1.5 games out of the 2nd wild card spot.

16. St. Louis Cardinals (16) - Their lineup is stacked with a few legit All Star candidates, including David Freese, Carlos Beltran and Yadier Molina. Adam Wainwright is starting to come around as well.

17. Toronto Blue Jays (13) - Even the worst team in the AL East is an average MLB team, and would be in the top half of most divisions in baseball. Unfortunately, they're stuck in the most stacked division in baseball.

18. Cleveland Indians (18) - They've lost their hold on the AL Central, and it looks like they might continue to be on the decline. If it's any consolation, their young 2B Jason Kipnis is having a great season.

19. Detroit Tigers (20) - They're steadily improving, and it looks like they could catch the White Sox in the AL Central if they keep it up. They're only 3 games back right now, and still have a potent lineup.

20. Oakland Athletics (21) - They're doing alright in inter league play, but unfortunately that only makes up a small portion of their schedule. Then again, beating the Rockies and Padres isn't all that impressive.

21. Miami Marlins (19) - They've lost 8 of their last 10 games, and they're one of the streakiest teams in baseball. If they can get some consistency and play to their potential, they'll be fine. But can they do it?

22. Philadelphia Phillies (24) - They're 19-18 on the road, but somehow can't win games at their home park, going a measly 15-22 so far at Citizens Bank Park. Maybe that will change when Roy Halladay comes back.

23. Milwaukee Brewers (22) - The Brewers continue to struggle, and I have a feeling they'll be hovering at around this point all season. They need help from more than Ryan Braun, and they're not really getting it.

24. Kansas City Royals (23) - The bad news: the Royals are a pretty bad team. The good news: there's plenty of playing time to go around for young guys like Dee Gordon, Eric Hosmer, and others.

25. Seattle Mariners (25) - The Mariners continue to struggle, so get ready for a plethora of trade rumors surrounding Felix Hernandez. But then again, we've heard them for at least 5 years now, and he's still there.

26. Houston Astros (27) - Jose Altuve should start the All Star game, and we'll see if the fans can look past his horrible team and give him the recognition he deserves. Even if they don't, he'll be there.

27. Minnesota Twins (26) - The Twins have the worst run differential in baseball at -90, and there aren't a whole lot of bright spots outside of Joe Mauer, who continues to be their lone real bright spot.

28. Colorado Rockies (28) - Carlos Gonzalez will be the Rockies' token All Star this year, especially since Troy Tulowitzki is on the DL. This is going to be a long year in Colorado, where wins are hard to come by.

29. San Diego Padres (29) - Not much is going right for the Padres, who have the worst run differential (-78) in the National League, and are once again out of contention very early in the season.

30. Chicago Cubs (30) - It looks like it's Anthony Rizzo time. He has absolutely dominated at the AAA level, and might give Cubs fans some sort of incentive to continue watching this abysmal season.
