After another Red Sox-Yankees series last week, the Yankees are still winless against the Red Sox. It's rather fortunate for Red Sox fans, since the Yankees are actually doing better than the Red Sox against the rest of the league. The Dodgers stay on top, but they're losing ground. If things get much closer, I might have to penalize them, simply for the fact that they are the only respectable team in their division. Sorry Giants fans, but I just don't have a lot of respect for that lineup.

The Dodgers need some competition, and I'm not sure if anyone in the NL West is capable of bringing it. |

The Red Sox just can't lose to the Yankees. It's uncanny. How long can it keep up? |

The Phillies are an incredible 23-9 on the road. I knew Philly fans are bad, but how is this team only 13-16 at home? |

They had 1 walk in the loss on Sunday - that was the 29th time this season where they have had 2 walks or less (compared to the Dodgers 14 times) -drn0iswatr |

The Yankees are doing great against everyone out there... except the Red Sox. 0-8 vs Boston so far this year. Not good, since they still have 10 games left. |

The Tigers are on top of the tightest division in baseball. How long can they stay there? It depends on Justin Verlander. |

The Giants finally crack the top 10. Perhaps their pitching IS good enough to make up for their lack of offense. They should still trade for a bat, if they can. |

Even Johan Santana isn't pitching well right now. This team desperately needs to turn it around, or GM Omar Minaya's days are (rightfully) numbered, with the 2nd highest payroll in baseball. And New York, but whatever. |

The Blue Jays have a strong offense, and a decent rotation behind Roy Halladay, but is his groin going to give him problems? Doesn't matter, they have no chance in the AL East. |

Normally, I'd make some snarky comment here. But the Marlins' payroll is $23M LESS than the Nationals, and they have twice as many wins. Impressive. Kinda. |

Jason Kubel is batting .333 with 4 HR and 6 RBI in the last 7 days. Compound his production with Mauer and Morneau - Minnesota can sustain enough offense to let the rotation continually try to improve. -Chief_aka_James |
