Defenders: Franklin, Gonzalez, DeLaGarza and Dunivant.
Midfielders: Donovan, Beckham, Juninho and Magee.
Strikers: Cristman and Keane.
Strategy and Tactics
LA Galaxy are expected to deploy a 4-4-2 formation. As usual, they will try to utilize their exceptional midfielders to orchestrate plays. Veteran Beckham will be the key to their success. A good performance by Becks on the wings and as a false-line attacking midfielder will be crucial. Brazilian prodigy, Juninho will provide magic outside the box and try to feed in balls to the strikers. Donovan will be patching up and linking the midfield to other players. The American international will also dominate the attack with his finesse passing and finishing abilities.
Defender: Sean Alvarado is out of action because of surgery on his right knee.
Defender: Gregg Berhalter will be watching the match from the bench after he sprained his right ankle.
Defender: Leonardo is also being nursed to full after being scheduled for surgery on his right knee.
Midfielder: David Beckham is being troubled by back spasms therefore his presence on field will be doubtful. Nonetheless, most pundits expect to suit up for the match.
Goalkeeper: Donovan Ricketts has a fractured left ulna. He will probably miss the match.
Although, Galaxy are facing a crisis in their defensive department they are expected to fend of attacks from the Colorado Rapids.
Defenders: Earls, Wynne, Marshall and Kimura.
Midfielders: Mullan, Mastroeni, Larentowicz and Thompson.
Strikers: Nyassi and Folan.
Strategy and Tactics
Rapids are also expected to field the traditional 4-4-2 formation with two midfielders and two wingers. If their full backs provide enough assistance to their midfield and their centre backs manage to keep Galaxy’s attacks at bay then Rapids have brighter chances of success.
Striker: Conor Casey will be on the bench after he tore his left Achilles tendon.
Defender: Anthony Wallace has a sprain in his left knee therefore he won’t risk coming to the field.
Midfielder: Jamie Smith has succumbed to a right hamstring and calf strain. No one knows the period of his recovery as yet.
Goalkeeper: Matt Pickens who was out of action because of a groin strain might make his return to the team.
Recently, Galaxy have been suffering from turbulent form. They have been handing under par performances even though they are one of the strongest teams in Major League Soccer. On the other hand Colorado Rapids woeful form is expected to continue. Their squad lacks team chemistry, something their coach, Gary Smith should work on. Meanwhile, Bruce Arena and Co. are expected to wave the victory flag owing to their star studded squad.
