A couple weeks ago I posted this video that scrolled through all of the player ratings for Madden '08.GameTap had the opportunity to speak with a few players and get their take on the ratings. I've always loved hearing from the guys who seriously care about how they fluctuate from year to year. You know it's the big locker room talk for the next couple weeks as most spend their downtime playing the game.
Said Reggie Bush: "I'm a 98 speed, 100 acceleration, 99 agility," he boasts. "I love the fact that they made me so good. If you play as the Saints and you want to score, basically, get me the ball. Throw me a screen or hand me the ball, it's that simple."
Click on the link below to review all the top ratings for each position, but here's the excerpt for running backs:
Who do you think is the most overrated/underrated player in the entire game?1. LaDainian Tomlinson: 99
2. Larry Johnson: 96
3. Steven Jackson: 96
4. Shaun Alexander: 95
5. Brian Westbrook: 94
6. Frank Gore: 93
7. Willis McGahee: 92
8. Clinton Portis: 92
9. Rudi Johnson: 91
10. Edgerrin James: 91
Overrated/underrated: Thomas Jones is the workhorse that carried the Bears offense to the Super Bowl and still only finds himself with an 88 overall on his new team, the Jets. Travis Henry is another player on a new team who seems to be a bit low at 87, as anyone who follows the Broncos knows what kind of numbers their primary back puts up. Edge seems a bit high at 91 considering how terrible he looked last year out in Arizona.
