So this happened five years ago today. It was simpler time, wasn't it? A time when idiots from the stands thought they could throw beer at players with impunity. My, how times have changed.
And where is everyone now? Well, Artest is a Laker, Stephen Jackson went on to captain the Warriors (biggest WTF in NBA history), and Big Ben I believe is now a rotting carcass. Wait, my fault, that's Jermaine O'Neal.

This was the night that the Pacers stopped being a good team. Before that fight they were the best team in the NBA and rolling to a possible NBA title.

The thing that has always bothered me about that event is how the Pistons and their fans ended up going completely blameless. This isn't the first time Pistons fans had thrown items at a player. They aren't exactly known for their class.

The biggest thing that happened that night was that this disgusting mess somehow propelled the Pistons to another NBA Finals. The Pistons were not playing well, and the Pacers were beating them at the time the incident started. Coincidence.?

It is hilarious irony that today would have been the five year wedding anniversary for my ex-wife and I a/k/a Malice In the Apartment.
