Shocking news from England has alerted Spanish football giants Barcelona and the Champions League winners Chelsea. The reports inform about Roberto Mancini’s sudden interest in the Brazil star Neymar.

Insiders at Manchester City have confirmed that the club manager Roberto Mancini is looking forward to meet with Santos’ new Director of Football Txiki Begiristain. Media reports suggest Roberto Mancini is willing to break the bank in his attempt to bring Neymar to Manchester City.

Neymar has been linked to a big-money move for a long time. The 20-year-old forward caught the eye of top notch football clubs three years ago. Since then Neymar has entered the football market each break, but no club has been able to secure his services.

Real Madrid, Barcelona and Chelsea are believed to be the favorites for his signature, still Neymar likes to remind everyone it will be he who decides which club to choose at the end of the day.

Reportedly, Neymar has already inked a gentleman’s contract with Barcelona. Neymar has avoided commenting on this topic. However, the President Luis Alvaro Ribeiro and Vice-President Odilio Rodrigues Filho of Santos have labelled these reports as false rumors.

Manchester City may have become potential suitors for Neymar, but Barcelona are still the top favorites for Neymar, especially after the appointment of Txiki Begiristain, who used to be Barcelona’s Technical Director.

Nonetheless, Roberto Mancini is bent on working with Santos to formulate a deal for Neymar.

“I have read that Barcelona are buying Neymar but I don't know if it is true or not,” Roberto Mancini said in an interview to the Daily Star.  “When Txiki (Begiristain) starts to work here this week, we can start to talk about the future. For us, that is very important.”

“Neymar is a Santos player at this moment and I don't know what will happen to him in the future. But I am very happy to work now with the sporting director because he knows the situation.

“We have talked on the phone and by messages and now we will meet in the next few days.”

In spite of possessing one of the best attacks in the English Premier League, Roberto Mancini believes his side needs fresh faces in the form of forwards. Manchester City is likely to sell out Carlos Tevez in order to make room for Neymar.
