Manchester City plan Robin van Persie bid by offering Carlos Tevez to Real Madrid
Recent reports flying in from Spain have confirmed that Real Madrid could sign in the Manchester City bad boy Carlos Tevez for £25 million this summer. Manchester City plan to use these funds to make a bid on the Arsenal ace Robin van Persie.
Real Madrid and Manchester City have been linked with a transfer for Carlos Tevez since New Year’s Eve. As a matter of fact, Carlos Tevez has been on the brink of an exit from Eastlands ever since his bust-up with Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini.
Carlos Tevez offered an olive branch to Roberto Mancini in the second half of the season which seemed to have erased any bad blood between the striker and the manager. However, Roberto Mancini’s move to send off Carlos Tevez could be a sign to warn his players that further insolence will not be tolerated.
Funds from Carlos Tevez’s transfer will fuel Roberto Mancini’s desire to sign in the Arsenal skipper Robin van Persie. As a matter of fact, bringing the Dutchman to Manchester City could be Roberto Mancini’s basic plan after all.
Carlos Tevez was on the verge of joining Real Madrid last season. Although, the striker still has two years left on his contract with Manchester City, Roberto Mancini wants to revamp his squad with in-from players in order to defend the English Premier League title next season.
Reportedly, Roberto Mancini would be willing to sign in Robin van Persie in the blink of an eye if the Italian is given an opportunity to do so. However, Roberto Mancini will have to orchestrate a massive cleanup at Manchester City if he wants to accumulate the funds for Robin van Persie’s transfer.
The first step Roberto Mancini should take is to lose useless players with massive salaries and of course Carlos Tevez tops the list in that department. Manchester City has offered Robin van Persie a weekly salary of £230,000 but in order to come up with such funds they will have to sack Carlos Tevez and his wage bill of £198,000-a-week.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is unhappy over the transfer rumors surrounding Robin van Persie. The Frenchman has offered Robin van Persie an increase in pay but the 29-year-old forward wants to add silverware to his shelf before he retires.
Juventus has also shown a lot of interest in signing Robin van Persie. The Serie A winners plan to buff up their attack this summer. Adding Robin van Persie to their attack would undoubtedly benefit them.
