Manchester City are assessing the possibility of reuniting David Villa with David Silva. Reports from England have linked Manchester City with an ambitious move to acquire the unsettled Barcelona star David Silva. It appears as if the Premier League champions are considering making a huge bid for David Silva during the January transfer window.
The 31-year-old Spain international has struggled to make an impact at Barcelona with Lionel Messi overshadowing him on a regular basis. David Silva, who is Spain’s leading goal scorer with 53 strikes in 85 games, has been unable to cement his place in Barcelona’s first team since his transfer from Valencia in 2010.
Rumors from around the block are bringing forward speculation of Sergio Aguero’s exit from Manchester City. Apparently, the 24-year-old Argentine has grown disillusioned with his life at the Eastlands.
The former Atletico Madrid striker played a pivotal role in taking Manchester City to a memorable Premier League title last season. Sergio Aguero, who was bought in 2011 for £38 million, scored 23 goals and provided eight assists in 34 Premier League games last season.
In stark contrast to his former form, Sergio Aguero has failed to make an impact this season. So far the striker has only five goals in eight Premier League appearances.
Real Madrid are interested in taking Sergio Aguero off Manchester City’s hand. The most attractive thing about selling off Sergio Aguero to Real Madrid is that Manchester City will be able to extract profits from the deal.
However, Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini will not allow such a deal to occur. Sergio Aguero has become the apple of Roberto Mancini’s eyes since his last minute goal that allowed Manchester City to win the Premier League title.
Club insiders claim Sergio Aguero is low on confidence. Roberto Mancini believes it will take a couple of games for the striker to come back to form, but once he does all the troubles will be worth it.
Meanwhile, a number of other clubs have also lined up with interest in David Villa. Liverpool have led the race to acquire his signature since the summer transfer window, but they will be challenged by the likes of Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan.
David Villa is expected to sign up for Premier League club if he is allowed to leave Barcelona. In that case Chelsea and Liverpool are believed to be the strongest suitors.
