Manchester United agree deal for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha
Manchester United are expected to announce the signing of Crystal Palace wonder-kid Wilfried Zaha in next 48 hours. The deal will see Manchester United acquire the bragging rights of Wilfried Zaha after they pay Crystal Palace transfer fees amounting to £12 million.
If the deal is sealed, Wilfried Zaha would break the record for the highest transfer fees paid by a Premier League club for the services of a Championship player. Wilfried Zaha has been in the mix of a move to Manchester United for weeks now.
Rife rumors suggest young winger could be arrive at Manchester United’s Carrington training grounds for his medical and other tests today. Reportedly, Manchester United are planning on announcing the transfer deal on Monday.
The transfer deal will see Manchester United shell an initial amount of £7 million, with an additional £5 million later. Wilfried Zaha is expected to earn £35,000-a-week by signing for Manchester United.
After Manchester United have Wilfried Zaha’s signature they will loan back the youngster to Crystal Palace for the rest of the season, even though he has been in good form.
Sir Alex Ferguson would certainly understand that it’s better for Wilfried Zaha to continue gaining experience at Crystal Palace rather than risk an unsettled squad when he brings the 20-year-old back home.
Wilfried Zaha, who has already earned a cap for England, has been an object of interest for Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur as well. Arsenal are Manchester United’s main contender for Wilfried Zaha’s services. They have been closely linked to the transfer saga for a while.
Sir Alex Ferguson sees Wilfried Zaha as a long-term replacement for the disgraced Manchester United winger Nani. The Portugal international wants to stay at Manchester United, but a big-money move could change his mind.
Nani has been given till the end of the season to prove his worth to Manchester United or he will be abandoned this summer. Nani has made only 11 appearances in all competitions for Manchester United this season.
The out of form and out of favor forward will probably leave Manchester United at the end of the season.
