Manchester United and Chelsea to battle over Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha
Manchester United and Chelsea transfer target Wilfried Zaha will not be in the transfer market this fall. This news has been revealed by a Crystal Palace insider. The confidant revealed Crystal Palace intended to keep Wilfried Zaha at the club till the end of the season.
Various media outlets have suggest Wilfried Zaha has been listed on top of Sir Alex Ferguson’s transfer list this winter. The Manchester United manager has rule of signing in players during the summer transfer window. Sir Alex Ferguson has only broken his rule when he is about to make a big signing.
Wilfried Zaha, who has become an object of great interest in Europe, has been in superb form for his Championship side Crystal Palace. The new boss of Selhurst Park, Ian Holloway is eager to keep Wilfried Zaha at Crystal Palace till the end of the season, but a mouth-watering offer from Manchester United or Chelsea could see him lose his star.
Ian Holloway believes Wilfried Zaha will be the man who spearheads Crystal Palace back into the English Premier League. The 20-year-old has already proven to be a one-man army on numerous occasions, therefore this feat is achievable.
“It would be easy to cash in on Wilfried in January, but the feeling at the club is that it would be a false economy. It is a case of giving it our best shot to win promotion – and that means keeping Wilfried at Selhurst Park,” the confidant told The Sunday Mirror.
Wilfried Zaha earned raving reviews following his impressive performances against top notch clubs (including Manchester United) last season. Sir Alex Ferguson is known for signing in young players that have performed well against Manchester United, therefore the Old Trafford boss is expected to follow-up with a bid this fall.
Reports indicate Wilfried Zaha is valued around the £20 million region. Sir Alex Ferguson plans on getting rid of Nani during the winter transfer window, which means Manchester United will have a vacancy for a winger quite soon.
Manchester United are expected to earn a handsome amount of money from the sale of Nani, which should be more than enough to fuel the bid for Wilfried Zaha.
Moreover, Manchester United has a long list of England internationals at Old Trafford. The likes of Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Tom Cleverley and Danny Welbeck will do well to company Wilfried Zaha in the future.
