Rookie Clayton Kershaw pitched masterfully, going 7 innings, giving up only 1 run on 3 hits, while striking out 7.

In the Nationals' 6-3 win over the Rockies in the opening game of their doubleheader, Lastings Milledge went 3-4 with 2 HR and knocked in 4 runs. The Nationals won the 2nd game 6-3 as well.
