A lot of people will say, "when you discuss Manny for MVP, you also have to discuss C.C. Sabathia for NL Cy Young"
Yes, Manny has only been on the Dodgers for about 2 months, but there is no other player in the NL, not even all of baseball, that has meant as much to their team as much as Manny has. Manny's 14 homeruns and 41 Runs Batted In (as of September 14th) in just 41 games, only tell half of the story. He has reached base safely in 39 of 41 games, and has a hit in 33 of them ( about 81%) He also 16 multi-hit games, including three 4-hit games. Manny has given the Dodgers the lead 12 times, 6 of them with a homerun. As well as helping the Dodgers gain ground, and eventually take the division lead, he also has been a major factor in the series against Dodgers toughest division rival, Arizona. In 9 games against Arizona, Manny is 20-32 (.625) has 5 homeruns, and 12 RBI's, helping the Dodgers finishing off the season series against Arizona, winning seven of the last nine games. Manny has also been a factor to the Dodgers not just by his offense, but to the clubhouse. He has turned a a quiet clubhouse into a motivated team and has shown that the Dodgers are the team to beat in the National League, maybe in baseball.
