Marcus Smart pushes fan near end of loss to Texas Tech (UPDATE: Smart suspended three games)

As if a bad loss to lowly Texas Tech wasn't bad enough for Oklahoma State, it got worse when star player Marcus Smart shoved a fan. The video is below.

Obviously, Smart can't do that, no matter how justified it may be. That's not necessarily fair, but it's Blog Photo - Marcus Smart pushes fan near end of loss to Texas Techreality, and he'll likely face some sort of suspension, and is certainly to be given a reputation as a "hothead," or worse, a "thug."

The Texas Tech fan, according to Deadspin, is one of those self-proclaimed "super fans." There are reports that the fan said something racial, perhaps the N-word. If that is the case (and again, that's far from confirmed), I can't say for certain how I would've reacted. That's all I have to say about that.

Smart will face consequences for his actions, but here's hoping this "super fan" doesn't get off scot free.

UPDATE: Smart has been suspended for three games.

I'm actually surprised we don't see more of this type of thing.  Fans are allowed to get way too close to athletes these days and all it takes is an athlete coming off a hard fought battle and a jacka$$ in the stands talking smack to make for a lethal combination
