Martin Kampmann or Mike Swick next for GSP

Georges St Pierre's Next Victim At Welterweight Will Be Either Mike Swick Or Martin Kampmann

A UFC 103 welterweight bout between veterans Martin Kampmann (15-2 MMA, 6-1 UFC) and Mike Swick (14-2 MMA, 9-1 UFC) will, in fact, determine a No. 1 contender to challenge for UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre's championship belt.

During this past Saturday's, July 11, UFC 100 pay-per-view event, broadcaster Joe Rogan said he was informed by UFC Vice President of Fighter Relations Joe Silva that the Sept. 19 fight could be a No. 1 contender's bout.

The date for the proposed bout will hinge on GSP's injury from UFC 100. At this point does anyone in the welterweight division even stand a chance?

That's a very awesome poll Greg. Anyone interested, please share your thoughts by ranking the Top 10 contenders at the MMA front page on the Q.  There are several links to the very solid and in-depth poll.

These guys are two of my faves in the Welterweight class, but either doesn't stand too good of a chance against GSP, who looks unbeatable right now.  Kampann has great wrestling and boxing, but GSP's on an entirely different mountain when it comes to wrestling in the UFC Welterweight class.  And Swick, he has solid BJJ, but GSP showed how well he could negate that against Thiago Alves at UFC 100.

GSP's injury is only supposed to keep him out for 4 weeks, so another bout could happen at the huge end of the year card, but I honestly don't think there is anyone in the weight class that could give GSP a challenge.  Jon Fitch is probably the closest thing to it, but Dana White seems intent on continuing to stick it to Fitch until he feels repaid for the troubles Fitch caused him regarding a freakin' video game contract.

Right now, it looks like the only guy who can beat GSP is GSP and I just dont see that happening.  He's pound for pound the best fighter in the world and so technically sound and well prepared that it seems like he can do whatever he wants, whenever he wants in the ring.  I think it's going to take a fighter having the perfect fight in order to beat GSP

Right now nobody at welterweight stands a chance.  He completely dominated Alves who was his supposed to be his biggest threat yet.
