Marvin Harrison Update: He Pats Down People For Weapons At His Bar

All Of A Sudden, Marvin Harrison Is Morphing Into Omar Little Before Our Very Eyes
5/6/08

It just keeps getting worse for Marvin Harrison at this point. ESPN's Sal Paolantonio, who knows Philly like the back of his hand, was on Mike and Mike this morning and gave us a number of new seedy details about Marvin Harrison.

Harrison's bar, and a car wash that he owns, are located in one of the worst sections of Philadelphia - which is admittedly pretty odd. In addition to that, Palantonio says he was told by police that Harrison often pats down guys for weapons at his own bar. Let me tell you something, if you have to pat down guys for weapons at a bar as an owner, you're probably not the best of guys yourself.

Also, it now turns out that the guy who was shot in the hand had just come out of jail after having served a 10-year sentence for murder. And on top of that, an additional person appears to have been shot in the shoulder and a two-year-old child suffered scrapes to the face from shattered glass caused by the fired bullets.

It's also been revealed that Harrison was interviewed for four hours by police after the incident, and still hasn't been ruled out as a suspect.

But here's the worst thing of all, Palantonio said during the morning interview as well that the gun is a body-armor defeating handgun.
"Its bullets could penetrate 48 layers of kevlar at 50 meters. This gun is designed to be a cop killer."
Yikes. So is anyone else's opinion of Harrison starting to change a bit? Because I'd be lying if I said no.

UPDATE:
Harrison's weapon is a .50 caliber custom made Belgian hand gun. A useful handgun for taking down a Rhino who invades your home. By the way, if you think I'm joking, take a look at the size of a .50 cal bullet. It's the bullet on the far left side of the photo. Thing looks like it could take down a police helicopter.

I don't blame Harrison for having a business or two in a bad neighborhood - trying to build up the inner city is an honorable thing to do in my opinion - but that he does pat downs himself is kind of scary.  Also the fact that a neighborhood known for its violence is shaken by this says a lot.

Another thing to look at: The bullet Harrison may've been shooting.  Its the one on the far right.  That thing is disturbingly huge.
Edit: And by right I mean left.  I'm a dumbass.

Perfect example of keeping business and personal seperate. The fact that he has kept his private life private for this long is pretty amazing.

If the man was coming to attack him then bravo to Marvin for defending yourself. Having your lawyer lie to the public not so much of a bravo as maybe a  boo.
