Marvin Harrison Was On Someone's Hit List?

Apparently There's An Awful Lot We Don't Know About Marvin Harrison
5/6/08
As you're all probably well aware of, Marvin Harrison has yet to be arrested in the shooting that occurred near his Philadelphia bar - even though it's now been established that the gun used was indeed Harrison's.Yep, this morning it was revealed by police that 6 of the bullet casings at the scene definitively came from Harrison's gun. Although that doesn't prove that Harrison fired the gun at all, it does seem a little fishy that Harrison's lawyer previously said Harrison was not present at all during the shooting incident and that his gun was not involved.
On of those two claims has now been proven to be false. Naturally, Harrison's lawyer declined to comment about the new revelations.
Also interesting is that Harrison apparently admitted that he did get involved in a fistfight the night of the shooting.
But now let's get to the really weird stuff. Pro Football Talk (via SPORTSbyBROOKS) found out that Philly sports anchor Keith Russell made some bold claims during a Monday afternoon radio spot in Miami. Russell said that he was told by sources that that the man who was allegedly shot in the hand after leaving Harrison’s bar last Tuesday had come to the establishment to carry out a gangland-style hit on Harrison.
Why would anyone be trying to knock off Harrison? Well, Russell said during the segment that the issue relates to Harrison’s father, who is (per Russell) in jail, and that the supposed hit was in retaliation for something Harrison’s father had done.
Somewhere in there Russell probably should have mentioned that Harrison is Sicilian and part of La Cosa Nostra, but I digress. The whole notion of hit on Harrison admittedly seems far-fetched, but then again, so did the idea of Harrison ever potentially shooting as someone - which seems more and more likely as each day passes.
And last, but certainly not least, ESPN felt compelled to throw one extra very interesting tidbit into their most recent article on Harrison. Apparently in 2005, Harrison was sued after the 2005 Pro Bowl when three boys accused him of attacking them when they tried to get his autograph. The suit alleged Harrison "violently and physically attacked" the boys - who were minors - including placing a "potentially deadly choke hold" on one of them. The case was dismissed, but as everyone knows, the more things like this pop up, the more likely some of them are to be true.
I said before that even though we think we know Marvin Harrison, in truth we don't know him at all. That seems to be the case more than ever now.
