Matt Holliday Leads the Colorado Rockies to the World Series

Greetings! I'm back, did you miss me (please don't answer that)? I managed to keep myself completely away from all things sports over the long weekend so coming back and turning on the TV to see "Colorado Rockies - 2007 National League Champions" isn't exactly the easiest way to ease yourself back into the mix. The Rockies are playing in the World Series? Is this true? Next I'll find out that both #1 and #2 lost in college football and that a 43-year-old QB came out of retirement to lead an NFL team to victory.

Winning 21 of 22 games is the most remarkable stretch of competition I can ever remember witnessing. Having this long week off in between games isn't going to help.

Anyways, plenty more on this in the morning. Just wanted to say hello briefly.

Rockies 6, Diamondbacks 4 (Boxscore)

I'm back too (in case anybody noticed I was gone all weekend save for a couple of quick comments from Chicago).

I'm glad that I missed the last 3 Diamondbacks games, as well as the Cardinals losing to the aforementioned QB.

When do the Suns start playing?

Meh. I guess a little.

"a 43-yard QB came out of retirement"

I'm only 18-yards myself...not looking towards retirement.

Wow.  Ever after half a night's sleep it's hard to believe it's really happened.  I keep waiting for the rug to be pulled out from under me.

When we lost two out of three to the fish in September, I thought we were done.  When we lost the game to Webb, same thing.  But those are the Rox' last three losses:  September 14, September 15 and September 28.  It's October 17 and we're waiting to see who we get in the Series.

The long wait is kind of a mixed blessing.  Aaron Cook may be ready to pitch again by the time we play in (I hope) Cleveland.
