It looks like Matt Kemp's injury to his shoulder was more serious than people thought it was, or than he let on. The slugger has scratched from the rest of the Giants series.
After hitting 3-30 since he collided with a wall, the Dodgers decided that Kemp needs to get better. Manager Don Mattingly said, “He needs to find out exactly what it is.”
One Dodgers trainer thinks it's a jammed shoulder, but he'll still get an MRI and a workup just to be safe.
Until he returns, Shane Victorino will take center field and Juan Rivera will start.
Kemp has been plagued by injury this season, and this one comes at an awful time as they battle the Giants, and try to hold onto any hope of winning their division. But it's not looking good for them right now. With luck, they'll make the playoffs.
After having such an amazing season last year, it's so sad to see him trying to make up for lost time and then only making matters worse for himself. Kemp seems to be a serious player, not a guy who only shows up on contract years, and you never like to see team players like that be down for this long.
