Mandatory Credit: Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY SportsMatt Kemp injured his ankle on July 21st, and it was diagnosed as a sprain. It was worse than that though, because the Los Angeles Dodger underwent surgery on Monday.

They fixed a damaged bone, and there’s no timetable for his return. Initially, the team sat him under Dr. Neal ElAttrache’s advice. He said that a fracture to the major weight-bearing bone could affect Kemp’s career.

If you’re thinking to yourself, “Didn’t Kemp just have surgery?” The answer is yes, he did. Last week, his A/C joint was cleaned up.

This season was a particularly injury riddled one for the young player, who is on contract for seven more seasons with the Dodgers.
