Mandatory Credit: Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY SportsDodgers’ centerfielder Matt Kemp is headed to the 15-day DL with a mild strain of the right hamstring. Kemp has been a major disappointment for the Dodgers, batting just .251 with 2 homeruns and 17 RBI. Kemp has struckout 60 times in just 191 at bats.

Kemp has been a hot topic of discussion recently regarding his surgically repaired shoulder. Dodgers’ manager Don Mattingly believes the shoulder is still bothering Kemp, while Kemp has said the shoulder is fine.

Well, this adds to the misery the Dodgers have been subjected to this season. Hanley Ramirez has been on the DL twice and Zack Greinke missed a month.  Kemp going on the DL comes at a bad time considering Ramirez is expected back next week. At least now the focus will be off Kemp’s shoulder.
