Rebilas-USA TODAY SportsJust days ago, Don Mattingly said that he would keep Matt Kemp out of the Los Angeles Dodgers lineup until he was 100 percent, but the slugger must not have heard that or he would have kept these comments to himself.

Kemp was asked about how his injury is healing and according to ESPN reporter Beto Duran, he said:

Matt Kemp on running bases for 1st time ankle sprain "felt good...went better than I thought" added ankle "will be sore rest season"

Hopefully a "sore" ankle won't deter Mattingly, otherwise Kemp might have a hard time getting his spot in the packed outfield back.

Kemp still doesn't see it that way though, saying:

Kemp on his role in September "I want to play...last I checked I'm the centerfielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers"

Mattingly already admitted that whichever outfielder he benches will be mad, but it will just depend on who is playing the best relative to each lineup they face.
