If this photo makes it look like Arizona Cardinals' QB Matt Leinart is choking, that's because he is. Leinart assured everyone that they shouldn't be alarmed by his beer bonging offseason photos. His performance last night and throughout this preseason haven't quieted those doubts.
Hollywood Matt completed seven passes Saturday night, three of them went to the Oakland Raiders. In total, his line was 4-for-12 passing for 24 yards and three interceptions.
The effort was good enough for Ken Whisenhunt to announce Kurt Warner as the Cardinals starting quarterback this season. As the 10th overall pick, he's come nowhere close to fulfilling expectations. This was supposed to be the year, like Eli Manning last season, where he finally started to figure the game out.
In other news around the busy Saturday night of preseason-ness...
Jonathan Stewart and DeAngelo Williams got their run on. Both scored on runs of 50+ and finishes with 100 and 101 yards respectively. The even better news is that this totals were tallied basically in one half of play. Fantasy drafts reshuffled overnight, you can assume.
Aaron Rodgers sharp again. With the attention finally going away from Green Bay, the post Favreian quarterback was 18-of-22 for 193 yards and a touchdown. Rodgers also scored on a one yard run. Safe to say he's officially ready for the season and more expectations.
