Me & The Bears-Like A Junior High Crush

Mull-USPRESSWIREI love them. I hate them. They are awesome. They are awful. These Chicago Bears-what are we to think?

Remember in junior high, when you had that crush on that pretty cute guy or girl-for me, there was this boy Allan. He had great blue eyes and a ton of freckles. There would be days where we would talk and joke around and I thought, wow-we are getting married. I know, I know, but it was junior high! Then, the VERY NEXT DAY, he wouldn't even acknowledge my existence. I hated him and was never going to care about him again!

That is exactly how I feel about these Chicago Bears. Opening game, crazy excited, and as the game progresses, I keep thinking-is this for real? Are these Bears the real deal? A REAL passing game with a killer receiver in Brandon Marshall, passes flying to Alshon Jeffrey, Devin Hester, Forte and Bush running up a storm. The real deal. A real offense that will be exciting to watch-with the possibility of the long ball for a touchdown at every play. In love!

Now, the minute that Cutler blurb hit the airwaves-even if taken out of context, I got that pit in my stomach. Big mistake. Even if the Bears can take the ball downtown, just don't think you throw that out to any division rival, especially one like the Green Bay Packers. Now, whether that comment played any role in the game I have no idea, but the Packers made the Bears look like a bad high school team. Cutler got sacked multiple times, threw the ball straight into coverage, there wasn't a run down the middle to be had anywhere. The Bears were embarrassed and played like it. Awful. Disgraceful. I am NEVER going to care about them again!

At least until Sunday, when they play again. I have no idea which Bears team is showing up this time. Its much more fun when the passing game gets going, those openings through the middle make Forte look like a rock star and Cutler is playing like a Pro Bowler. But we'll see. It's much more fun falling hard than being disappointed and bummed out. Some things really do never change.
