Memphis Grizzlies Draft 8-Year-Old
The Memphis Grizzlies have drafted the youngest player ever in NBA history. An 8-year-old boy named Charvis Brewer had his dreams come true on New Year’s Day, when the Memphis Grizzlies drafted him through the Make-A- Wish Foundation.
Charvis suffers from cerebral palsy and is a huge Memphis Grizzlies fan. "When Make-A-Wish approached us with Charvis' request to be drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies, the entire organization from players to coaches to staff jumped at the opportunity to make his wish come true," Grizzlies CEO Jason Levien said. "He's a great kid that comes from a great family and is so full of life. We are a bigger fan of his than he is of ours."
NBA fans have seen commercials that advertise the NBA Cares mantra, but the NBA - more than any other sports league - puts in their time on the court and off the court to help their respective communities. And this is just one touching example of the Memphis franchise reaching out to their best of fans.
