Yankees lose big game to Rays 7-2 to fall further back in playoff push.
Dice-K returns to MLB and gets shelled by Miguel Cabrera and the Tigers 6-1.  Third Eye Blind says they are working on new album after game…fans boo them out.
Yankees lose another big game to division foe Rays 4-2.
Max Scherzer and the Tigers shut out Matt Harvey and the Mets 3-0 to move to 19-1…more news to come on Matt Harvey.
Jets beat Giants in meaningless Snoopy Bowl 24-21 in OT.  Geno Smith throws three interceptions in dreadful performance.  For some odd reason, Rex Ryan puts in Mark Sanchez in 4th quarter to try and win a preseason game.  He then gets crushed and hurts his shoulder.  Matt Simms comes in to emerge as Jets best QB so far in preseason.
After the game, Rex Ryan goes on tirade against Manish Mehta and won’t answer question on quarterback competition.  He proceeds to act like a child not answering the question sideways and backwards.

Mets get embarrassed by Tigers on Tom Seaver bobblehead day 11-3.  Miguel Cabrera hits another bomb off windows in left field.  Bullpen gives up seven runs in 9th inning.  Tigers come in to Citi Field and sweep Mets easily.
Mets announce ace pitcher and All Star Matt Harvey has partial tear in elbow and will miss the remainder of the season.  Tommy John surgery is also possible which would make him miss all of 2014.
Mets then proceed to lose 5th straight game 2-1 as Phillies remain ahead of them in NL East.
Yankees lose to last place Blue Jays 5-2 to lose another game in the Wild Card standings.
Jets announce Mark Sanchez has shoulder injury and is day-to-day.
Santonio Holmes returns to practice for Jets and looks 100% but continues to say he may not be ready for opener.
Mets trade Marlon Byrd and John Buck to Pirates for minor league infielder Dilson Herrera and player to be named later.  It happens to be Marlon Byrd’s t-shirt night.  Well that makes this awkward.

Yankees lose again to last place Blue Jays behind Hroki Kuroda 7-2 and lose another game in AL East and Wild Card standings.  Robinson Cano and Eduardo Nunez forced to sit with injuries.
Mets lose another game to Phillies 6-2 as Dice-K is awful once again.  Mets fall to 59-72 and 27-38 at home.
Jets sign quarterback Graham Harrell….further adding to their QB controversy.
Jets will play final preseason game vs Eagles.  Who starts, who gets hurt, and what circus press conference will occur after the game this time around?
Hey, at least the U.S. Open is going on in Flushing right?  It’s been a nightmare for New York sports fans this past week, at least for Mets, Jets, and Yankees fans.  The NFL regular season is just a week away…maybe the drama ends there?  Doubtful.
