Mar 15, 2013; Indianapolis, IN, USA; Los Angeles Lakers forward Metta World Peace (15) has his shot blocked by Indiana Pacers center Ian Mahinmi (28) at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Indiana Pacers 99-93. Mandatory Credit: Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY SportsMetta World Peace was injured in late March and had to undergo knee surgery so it was thought that he would take about 6 weeks to get back into playing shape.

That doesn’t seem to be the case though because about 1.5 weeks later, he is up and running around as if nothing ever happened, which apparently surprised his teammates too.

He’s been keeping his fans updated on Twitter (and if you don’t follow Metta you definitely should because he’s prone to bouts of hilariousness) by tweeting:

Well, maybe not no wear and tear, but this is his first major knee injury in his career, which should help with the recovery, but more interesting is his age. People tend to heal slower as they get older, and Metta is 33 years old and a 13 year vet.

The Lakers will need to keep winning every single game to try and get the 8th spot in the division, but their defense is clearly struggling without Metta, so hopefully his return is a speedy one.
