The Miami Dolphins have officially released their new logo, acknowledging that it had previously been leaked by folks at Nike, the NFL's new apparel sponsor.
The image appeared on NFL.com earlier today, and Dolphins CEO Mike Dee acknowledged that it was indeed the new logo
"It was leaked by somebody at Nike. We had always had a plan to kind of roll it out over a 30-day period so we’re going to start rolling it out. But the logo is only one part of the announcement. It’s a complete re-branding of the team. There’s a lot of history in this in that we went back to colors, the true aqua and the true orange that were part of the first 29 years of the franchise’s history, but the logo design itself and some other things you’ll see respect that tradition in the past but also have an eye on the 21st century Dolphins. There’s a lot of other elements to the announcement on draft night than just the logo. But now that the logo is out there we’re going to have some fun with it. Players are excited to adorn the new clothing. You’ll see it around here over the next 30 days leading to the big announcement on April 25th."
What do you think of the Dolphins' new logo? Is it an improvement, or did you prefer the old one?
