"To be one of just two players in the country to receive such an honor is very humbling." So said Michael Beasley regarding his unanimous selection to the All-American team. It should come as no surprise that Beasley was not named to the Academic All-American team. Humbling, you see, can be a verb, definition: to curtail or destroy the pride of; or it can be an adjective, definition: causing awareness of your shortcomings.
It appears to THE ARBITER that Michael used humbling as a verb (perhaps we should ask him). So Michael - let me get this straight - getting an award has destroyed or at least curtailed your pride? How can that be? Perhaps it's humbling because another player received the same honor; as in you're not the only one, you're not the absolute best college player in the country. Yes, that must be it. Just don't say it's humbling when you win the Naismith Award.
Top reason to follow horseracing - horses don't talk. As you must know by now it is Kentucky Derby prep season and this Saturday we have The Santa Anita Derby, The Wood Memorial and The Illinois Derby. THE ARBITER has already said he likes a horse with early speed and a big heart and can best find those qualities in a name. Predictions will appear as post time approaches. Speaking of big hearts did you know that Secretariat's heart was 2 and a half times larger than normal, not unlike the heart of the Grinch after that special Christmas in Hooville. Imagine what an athlete he must have been after that.
Always give 110%!
