Michael Vick Update: NFL To Let Him Play For Now
READ MORE:
Roundup of all your Michael Vick dogfighting news and opinions ...

The only good news for Vick thus far stemming from dogfighting charges is that the NFL is likely to let him play until the court case is settled.

Bad news is everywhere, including the fact he's likely to face many local charges as well.

Vick's scheduled to report to court next week ... on the day Falcons report to camp.

Gregg Doyel would prefer we don't see Vick in an NFL uniform this season.

Don Banks of SI points out a source close to Vick that was hardly subtle when addressing the cause of Vick's transgressions:
"He's not very bright at all,'' the source said of Vick. "And that's a big part of his problems. He's a very unintelligent person and he makes poor decisions because of it. It's not a white or black thing. Paris Hilton is an idiot, too. Mike Tyson was totally dumb, but for a long time his trainer kept him protected from his worst mistakes. You have to have someone around you who can protect you from yourself at times.''
Wow, compared to Paris and Tyson and the trial hasn't even started yet. This isn't going to go well.

Also, it appears that his cousin (the one who lived there and ultimately may have started this drama for Vick) is the one who is providing information to the feds in order to clear his name.  Thats pretty rough, although he brought this upon himself.

Add that on to the most recent letter from Al Sharpton, Russell Simmons, and the Humane Society, and it would seem that Vick's career is almost over.

Unfortunately the only thing i have to say is he brought this on himself.

HYPOCRISY IS RAMPANT IN THE LEAGUE OFFICE!!!!  HORRIBLE DECISION BY GOODELL.  !

The details of the indictment are so repulsive that I think the NFL should suspend him even before a conviction.  The league wants to be sure before they throw one of their marketable stars under the bus but I think it's too late.  His image is toast and deservedly so.   Nike should cut ties with him.
