Michigan State Loses Starting LG for 4-5 Weeks

There's no question that the Michigan State defense will be one of the best in the country this upcoming season. Now it'll be without its starting left guard for at least 4-5 weeks, reports Tom Fornelli of CBS Sports.

Junior Blake Treadwell suffered a hairline fracture in his tibia during a non-contact drill in practice on Wednesday.

How this is possible in a "non-contact" drill is a somewhat baffling to me, but I guess sometimes bad things happen to good people.

Redshirt freshman Jack Allen has already been named Treadwell's replacement starter.
