Michigan State-Ohio State: I'll Be In Columbus To Watch Another #1 Fall
by CriticalFanatic

At least that's the hope. Due to some last minute brilliance from CF Sr., I'll be in Columbus this afternoon to watch the Spartans take on the Buckeyes. I got a phone call Thursday from my dad with available tickets for the game ... I'm the moron who originally thought 'nah I should work.'  Upon my dad calling back Friday morning to tell me I'm an idiot, and me realizing that, I'll in the Horseshoe today.  It's really unfortunate Brent Musberger isn't calling this one ... I feel like this is his type of game.

There may have been some added motivation on my dad's part to make sure I joined him. I made the trip with several good Buckeye friends from college in 1998 and as you can see from the video above, they still hate me to this day (hate=love, right Fat?).

Can the Spartans pull off the upset? Sure. 1) Sufficiently talented. John L Smith didn't leave the cupboard bare, he just forget to coach them, 2) Mark Dantonion knows Jim Tressel's defense better than anyone's ... because it's his, 3) Javon Ringer and 4) are we sure Ohio State is this good? Now all of this is assuming Michigan State doesn't wet their pants as they've occasionally often been known to do.

For instance, in 2005:

So enjoy your football Saturday. I'll have the game thread up in the morning, and a few scattered posts throughout the day, and then I'll be back for some late night recap. Just in case something fun happens, the laptop will be in tow. Go State!

You can't mess with the mojo, CF.  They would have won if you wouldn't have posted that headline.

I thought you knew all the rules to sports superstitions.
