Michigan vs. Ohio [Game info and open thread
The Wolverines (24-9) were part of a three-way tie for first place in the Big Ten regular season along with Ohio State and Michigan State. Michigan, who beat Memphis and Iowa State in non-conference play, wins with defense and slow-paced game. Still, the Wolverines have a pair of guards that can take over games if necessary in Trey Burke and Tim Hardaway Jr. (son of the former NBA star). Both have the ability to create their own shots. Burke averages 14.8 and Hardaway averages 14.6 points a game.
The Bobcats (27-7) finished third in the Mid-American Conference regular season, but won the conference tournament to get an automatic bid to the tournament. Frankly, the No. 13 seed seems a little high for Ohio--the only tournament team they beat all season was already-dispatched-in-a-play-in-game Lamar. However, the Bobcats will be out to prove they belong. Their point guard, D.J. Cooper, is their best player. He averages 14.6 points and 5.7 assists a game--which is actually down from his stellar sophomore year.
