Mandatory Credit: Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY SportsMiguel Cabrera is having surgery tomorrow (Tuesday, Oct. 29) to repair his injured groin. He had been playing through the injury over the last month or so of the regular season, as well as through the ALCS.

Cabrera was noticeably slowed due to the injury, but he also showed what an incredible hitter he is. Despite the injury, he was still the most dangerous hitter in the Tigers' lineup, and was able to affect how a pitcher treats their entire lineup.

Cabrera finished the season with a league-leading .348 average and a career-high OPS+ of 187. He didn't win the Triple Crown this year, but was actually a better overall hitter than last year when he won that prestigious award.

Cabrera knew that he was injured for a while, but didn't want to be shut down by the team, so he battled through it despite the groin tear.

Hopefully for the Tigers, Cabrera will recover quickly and completely, and come back as strong as ever for next season.
