After months of speculation (not really) Mike Shanahan was released as Head coach and Executive Vice President (fancy smancy) of the Washington Redskins. No one is surprised at the announcement. It has been coming since the Redskins started losing games instead of winning.

I was never a fan of Shanahan, but I also know he isn't everything that is wrong with the team. Of course, the
"official" word, is, that all that happened this year will be analyzed and to quote Snyder, " a smart, step by step approach', will be made to find the right coach. EVP/GM Bruce Allen stated, " we will analyze accurately and honestly all of the decisions that were made over the past year". Really?, just the past year? I don't know who they have in mind, but I am sure it is someone that will be "good for the team" (not really). I never think Snyder is doing what is good for the team, just my opinion.

note: 8 other coaches were also fired, including Kyle Shanahan. Looks like a clean sweep.

I kinda feel like no matter what happened after about mid-season, he was a short-timer. Either he was going to get himself fired or he was going to quit (is there truth to the rumor that he almost quit at the end of last season?)

indecision(that's pretty much been the anthem for this team for the past 10-12 years) Had one great break-out season and back to the drawing board (closet to hide my head til august)

It's gonna be a while before they recuperate as a team, especially with the loss of their 2nd overall draft pick this year for RG3.
