I believe this is what the tennis statisticians would label a 'forced error.'

After a long point, Russian tennis pro/masochist Mikhail Youzhny was not pleased with his backhand into the net ... so he bludgeoned himself with his own racket.

Ouch, dude.

I'm not sure if he was just disappointed in losing the Brooklyn Decker sweepstakes or this is his sick way of motivating himself. Considering the match result, it appears to be the latter for now. Youzhny ran off seven straight points after this self inflicted wound and defeated Spain's Nicolas Almagro in a third set tie-break.
