Milton Bradley is having a great season. He leads the American League in batting with a .333 average, and has added 14 home runs and 45 RBI's to his credit. You'd think he wouldn't be so concerned with what others had to say about him, but no, this is Milton Bradley we're talking about.
During the game Wednesday night vs Kansas City, Bradley made his way to the clubhouse and overheard Royals broadcaster Ryan Lefebvre discussing the amazing life transformation of Josh Hamilton. Lefebvre complimented Hamilton on his accountability for his mistakes and then added, "it doesn't appear Milton Bradley has done the same thing in his life."
Instead of walking it off, Bradley did the calm, rationale thing. Yep, he took off out of the clubhouse and charged the Royals broadcast booth after the game. Now there's some accountability. Fortunately, Rangers manager Ron Washington and GM Jon Daniels chased after and held him back outside the door.
"All I want to do is play baseball and make a better life for my kid than I had, that's it," Bradley said to a quiet clubhouse. "I love all you guys. ... I'm strong, but I'm not that strong."You know, I'm just glad Milton didn't get hurt while his manager and GM restrained him. That's no sure bet with the ticking time bomb. At this point, Hasbro might as well just go ahead and make a board game where a baseball player must attempt to go through many obstacles during a season without blowing up.
