Missouri Tigers Prove BCS Worth; Tony Temple Runs for 281 Yards
Late Thursday night when the Orange Bowl turns into a rout I hope the officials will reget their move to select Kansas over Missouri. One of the best teams in the country was on display today in Dallas at the Cotton Bowl.

The Tigers rolled up 38 points and most impressively, Tony Temple stole the show at running back rushing for 281 yards. That was more than Felix Jones and Darren McFadden combined.

It's too bad Missouri couldn't prove their worth against some better competition.

Tigers 38, Razorbacks 7

I doubt Orange Bowl officials care about the quality of the game, as long as they make a ton of money from traveling fans, which they apparently felt Kansas would bring more of.

I'm not convinced the VT-Kansas game will be a blowout either;  what's the line at anymore?  3 or 4 points?  I usually trust Vegas on the lines, for the most part, and neither team has done anything to think they are considerably better than the other.

Anyway, Mizzou certainly got hosed, and it was pretty obvious this game was going to be Mizzou's to lose with Arkansas's situation.

Mizzou got screwed, but Virginia Tech isn't that much better than Kansas, if it all.  Honestly, I'd rather watch Mizzou and Kansas play again than Virginia Tech and Kansas (or Virginia Tech and Mizzou).

What's your beef with the Jayhawks?  We only lost 1 game and I fully expect us to beat Virginia Tech.  If anyone is going to get routed, it will be Virginia Tech who will be lucky to score more than 10 points.

You honestly think so? I think you're in for a surprise. Va Tech is an outstanding football team. I think this will be BCS blowout #3, and not in favor of the Jayhawks.

Yeah but you have to look at what the line for the Missouri - Arkansas name. Wasn't it 3 or 4 points also? Tech is not a great team but Missouri showed the country the frauds the Jayhawks are. Don't expect a good game out of any of the BCS bowls. It has turned into a money and marketing scheme for the bowls to make as much money as possible. They don't choose the best teams, they choose ones they think will make them money.

If there's any BCS bowl team that had a schedule comparable to Hawaii, it's Kansas. Name one team in the top 25 right now that Kansas has beaten. I'll wait for your answer...and I'll be waiting for a long time.

Honestly, I don't really mind not being in the Orange Bowl. Yeah, a BCS bowl would have been nice for Missouri but we got to play a good SEC team and we blew them out of the water when our star quarterback had a bad game. I know Arkansas has been in the middle of a lot of transition but a victory against most of the SEC is usually considered a good win. Missouri will end with a high ranking at the end of the bowl season and that will also fuel a decent pre-season ranking as well.

that was pretty funny

All I can say is we beat teams like Nebraska, K-State, Colorado, Texas A&M and Oklahoma State that we don't usually beat.  The Big 12 only had 3 great teams this year and we only played one of them and didn't play a very good game.  I just hope we can be consistent through the years.

I think we dominated Virginia Tech tonight in everything except for score.

Yeah, I was shocked to see you whoop up on Arkansas so bad when Daniels had a bad game.  Didn't Tony Temple go to Rockhurst?  Man, he went crazy.

I hope the KU/MU football game is this important every year.  Although I can't stand Missouri most of the time, I still pull for them against non-conference opponents.  KU and MU should both end up in the top 5 this year.........that's crazy.
