Monday Night Football Live Thread: Atlanta Falcons vs New Orleans Saints
Can The Falcons Finally Hand The Saints A Loss? [Monday Night Football Live Thread]
The Saints have looked like an unstoppable force so far. They looked somewhat beatable in the first half in MIami last week, but then they were as dominant in the 2nd half as any team has been all year, and came away with a 12-point win, which was still the their closest win of the year.

Their division rivals, the Falcons, will visit them in the Superdome, hoping to give the Saints their first loss. Based on the way they played against the Patriots and the Cowboys, I'm not sure if the Falcons can do it. In fact, 87% of FanIQ users say the Saints will win. But as they say, that's why they play the game. Anything can happen in the NFL, and the Falcons have a lot of talent, especially on offense. Look for this game to be quite the shootout.

The game starts at 8:30 pm EST on ESPN. If you're watching, chat about it here all night. As always, enjoy the game!

Our defense, while weak, has really stepped up most of the year, but against Dallas, they certainly failed. The Saints have a more potent offense for sure, and it is absolutely imperative that they cover the receivers better. It's not like they can focus on shutting one of them down, because Brees will throw to anybody. But a few big plays can give us a chance. Turner must be more explosive, and John Abraham HAS to get going again. Basically, everything has to go right for us to win this game, because if it doesn't, it will be a long night, much like the "Katrina" game that still gives me nightmares.

Drew Bree's and the Saints are playing awesome football this year, this could be a challenge they didn't expect the Falcons are no slouch.

Please let the Falcons still be in the game at halftime.  And be with the starving pygmies in New Guinea.

I think if they can do a better job protecting Ryan than they did against the Cowboys, then yeah, they could beat the Saints, but the D needs to contain 3 good backs and hassle Brees all night, not just the 1st half.

If the Falcons lose this game, they don't have anyone to blame but themselves.  Missed opportunities have absolutely killed them.

In no way have they been manhandled like a lot of people thought would happen.  They've had plenty of chances and just pisssed them away.

I am in the same boat man. The last few games he has really made some questionable decisions. That last pick wasn't his fault, but still, he has been off target a lot.

See, when Brees threw a pretty bad pass it was intercepted for no return. But when Ryan threw a god-awful pass, it was returned for a touchdown. Easier interceptions equal easier returns {but the guy was kind of being interfered with}

The thing about the Falcons is, they only throw slants. They don't do real dropback passes until they have to, and when they do, Ryan is okay {from what I've seen}

I'm not necessarily sure that I agree with that.  They may have run a decent number of slant patterns last night, but it had more to do with the coverage.  They haven't constantly run slant routs all season.

And when you score 27 points, 9 times out of 10 you expect to win that game.  Last night was more about what the defense gave up.  Not so much what the offense didn't accomplish.

Good game win for the Saints. Everything that could go wrong went wrong in the 4th quarter, yet we were able to hang on for the V. Good to these Saints fight it out through 4 quarters!! Who Dat!! Cut Carney.com is now open. haha...
