Scouting coaches in an ugly MNF game. Who wants 'em? [Monday Night Football Live Thread]

If any game this year should end in a tie...

This game is full of unintentional comedy and "imagine-if" scenarios. I wonder what would happen if you flip-flopped coaches just for this game. Or quarterbacks. Or entire defenses. Do you think either coach gets canned after the game? Halftime?

It should come as no surprise that Carolina isn't doing much better than the Eagles right now, even though both teams were expected to be much better. Panthers head coach (Ron Rivera) and defensive coordinator (Sean McDermott) both worked under Andy Reid at one point. With Reid coaching for his job in Philadelphia, these two are also likely coaching for theirs in Carolina.

Although Cam Newton is getting a lot of the blame for the Panthers woes this year, his 2012 stats are on pace to match 2011. His passing stats are actually similar to those of his rookie season. So far this year, he's completed 171 of 300 attempts for 57% completion rating (finished last season at 310 of 517 with a completion percentage of 60%) and has 10 INT to last season's total of 17 and 9 TD's this year to 21 last year. His fumbles are killing his stats, but with six more games to go, he could easily rival last season's other numbers when he was voted offensive ROY. One of those games being against the Eagles tonight certainly helps.

This will probably be a blowout, simply because it has all the makings of a shootout or a 5-2 final score (oh please let that happen), and the NFL is crazy. My bold prediction: The Panthers walk off with a win and these teams end the game with matching records.
