I've tried to predict this game, and I find myself going back and forth. I'm not entirely sure this Patriots team is as great as it's been in years past. However, while this Houston team has given their fans a lot to cheer about, they've also given them heart palpitations when they shouldn't. I took Houston in my pick'em league, but today I think I'm taking NE. I hope I'm wrong, simply because I think it would be great to see a new powerhouse emerge for awhile in the AFC.
Let's see a couple of other opinions from around the site. Here's an excerpt from yesterday's pre-game show and live thread for the MNF bonus pick:
Mike: ESPN must be licking their chops at what on paper looks like the game of the week. Both teams are playing at a high level and this should eb a great test for both. New England’s December record is insane and their home record in December is even better. However, they have injury issues and a defense that does just enough to win, but makes their fans pull their hair out. Houston has shown some lapses over the past month. I’m going with the Pats at home 27-23.
Eric: This is the part of the year where the Patriots just outscore everyone to make the world forget they can't stop a good offense. Thus, I pick New England.
This will be a test for sure, for both teams. Let's hope that means an exciting game for spectators. The Texans' one loss came at home, and the Pats are also on a six-game winning streak. It appears to be a battle on paper, but we all know how football can be sometimes.
Is there even any question anymore about this Texans team being legit? Will the Pats continue their pattern of December domination? The answers to these questions and more will most likely be answered tonight. Q it up here for MNF!
