Sorry...a day late, and hopefully not a dollar short.....

For most college basketball junkies, Selection Sunday is about as close to the peak as you can get. Just about everything leads to this day. We're past this day; NOW WHAT?? I think I'm complained out with the teams I agree/disagree with. Bracketology now seems like a distant past. I think the only thing we can look forward to are (if they happen) the upsets.

I don't think there's anything at all like the upset in March Madness. Just think about the other sports and almost nothing else compares. Okay...you had the Jets in SB III, maybe the Giants this year. Maybe for the baseball fans, the Marlins, maybe the Twins. College Football? Miami in '84, PSU in '87. I'm sure there are lots more. But you get my point, right? How can you forget NC State in '83, Villanova in '85? Valpo and Hampton a few years back, Cleveland State in the 80's; Princeton scaring the bejesus out of Georgetown. You rember those so much more than the other sports upsets. I mean companies are looking (still) for a George Mason! They transcend all of sports.

It's kind of funny seeing all of the experts and trying to figure out who/what to trust. I think I know a lot, and lately, my brackets are a bust! A couple of years back, my wife and I entered a work pool of mine and she won-and I get called out with great questioning of my manhood! My wife is a fan of the sport, so it was really no upset (to me) that she won. Maybe it was upsetting I couldn't beat her. However, mrs. jp23, why in the name of Rick Barnes do you think Texas will win?? Xavier in the Final Four?? We'll keep you posted.

Maybe I'm not much depressed as let down. But by Thursday, as I'm sitting in the Verizon Center attending my very first March Madness I hope I will look back at all of this with great fondness. I'm PSU true and blue, George Mason might be my muse, but does anyone have any Baylor gear for me??
