I think it's definitely common knowledge that the Knicks quit on Isiah Thomas a long time ago - and rightfully so - but this is opening up a whole new can of worms.Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports seems to have managed to dig up some of the ridiculous stuff that was going on - or more appropriately, wasn't going on - at Knicks practices and games. Here's the first snippet:
Until Sunday, when [Donnie] Walsh happened to be in the gym, the Knicks hadn’t had a legitimate practice in a month. Shootarounds seldom lasted more than 15 or 20 minutes on gameday mornings.
To say this is almost unreal would be an understatement. But it gets even worse. According to NBA scouts, the Knicks were almost impossible to file reports on. Why?“They haven’t run any plays in over a month."
Yet another scout said, "In all of my years, I’ve never seen anything like it. If (Thomas) is trying to get fired, he’s doing a good job of it."Truthfully speaking, I guess we shouldn't be surprised. After all, here are some of the "highlights" of the Knicks' season.
Zach Randolph demonstrates what not running a play produces.
Jamal Crawford also gave it a try with this blacktop move.
And of course there's the steady hand of Isiah, letting his own players get into a water tossing/towel throwing bench fight.
God, what a disaster. I think the worst thing is I'm not even really shocked by the news the Knicks basically didn't show up for the last month of the season. But then again, they didn't show up for most of the season either.
