(More) Madness

As promised, and as necessary, here we go with the breakdown of the NBA and NIT games for tonight.

THE NBA (7-4 last night and 18-16 so far for the week)

SU WINNERS (8-3 last night and 19-14 so far for the week)

BULLS, NUGGETS and KINGS

TOTALS (6-5 last night and 15-19 so far for the week)

OVER - Wolves/KINGS (212)

UNDERS - Blazers/BULLS (189) and 76ers/NUGGETS (205 1/2)

BUTTA (0-1 last night and 1-2 so far for the week)

Kings (-260) over Wolves - I've got a long way to go to get back to respectability this week. The longest journey begins with the first step, and sometimes that step must be a baby step. It's not going to be a big payout, but I don't want to lay (-6) on the Kings with that porous defense. The Wolves have become offensively challenged, but everyone scores on the Kings. The problem for the Wolves is that they won't be able to get enough stops on defense to keep from losing this game. KINGS 128, Wolves 98

ALL THE REST

1. BULLS (-6) over Blazers - Portland's postseason hopes are on life support, but the teams above them in the standings (Lakers, Jazz and Mavs) all lost their last game. I don't really think the Blazers will be in the conversation after the week and this road trip are over, but I can't make a move on the Bulls here. Chicago has had great difficulty covering numbers at home this season. BULLS 98, Blazers 87

2. NUGGETS (-14 1/2) over 76ers - Thanks to the number, I didn't spend a whole lot of time on this game. We know that the Sixers are on the b2b tonight after getting blown out of the gym by the Clips last night, and that closing consecutive games in Denver is the toughest thing in the league to do. But be careful with the Nugs here. They're fresh off throttling the Thunder in OkC on Tuesday night, so they might not be taking this inferior team seriously. NUGGETS 112, 76ers 83

COLLEGE HOOPS

I still haven't made a final decision on the play I'm looking closely at in The Madness, so maybe more to come on that.

The NIT (6-1 ATS/5-2 SU/5-2 TOTALS last night and 10-6/10-6/11-5 so far for the week)

Denver (+4 1/2, O130) 73, MARYLAND 70 - There's nothing to see here as far as action goes, but I am watching the TOTAL. It's been bet up to this level since the game opened, and while my projection agrees with the move, I also know that Denver is a team that hangs it's hat on it's defense. I don't think the number will get up high enough for me to be comfortable with the UNDER, but I will be paying attention right up until tip time.

There! That was relatively painless. Have a great rest of your Thursday. I know many of you are taking the day off from work, so be careful out there. I'll talk to you again tomorrow.
