The Rays will...
...win their second game against the Rangers and it will be a close one something on the order of 7 to 5. The Rays Bullpen gets the win, an unlikely hero in Cliff Floyd drives in the most runs...Carl Crawford doesn't have a good night, Carlos Pena has a decent but not great night. The Rangers jump ahead but the Rays have one of those miracle 6th or 7th innings to come back to win.
We'll see how much of that does or does not happen.
Update End 2nd:
Looks like the rays will need a miracle 6th AND 7th. Floyd already has a 2 run homer in the 2nd. Sonnanstine only earned 2 of the 7 runs. A rare 1st and 2nd inning collapse for the Rays at home this season.
Bot 4th:
Eric Hinske 2 run HR, score now 7 to 4!
Bot 6th:
Eric Hinske does it again, 7 to 5!
Bot 7th:
Okay...Upton got on base with a walk but was left on base. It's going to be a miracle 8th and 9th!
Top 8th:
Not good when the Rangers tack on five more runs.
Unless the Rays have a magic wand...it's over ladies and germs. So much for my first ever semi live coverage of the Rays. Wow...what a dissapointment if this stands.
To sum up: Sonnanstine got the loss, we got creamed but at least Floyd got a home run. At least the Red Sox lost on the road so the Rays did lose any ground. They really need a win with Garza on the mound today.
