David Moyes has been crowned with frowns for most of the season due to Manchester United’s abysmal performances and problems this season. However, the Old Trafford boss finally appears to be sailing towards calmer waters and brighter skies.

The Manchester United manager is at the cusp of welcoming back three stars to his team; Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and Marouane Fellaini. The three players have been out of action for a while, but are finally set for their return.

Moyes confirmed Rooney, Van Persie and Fellaini’s involvement in the training session on Monday. Moyes also revealed that he hadn’t decided his final squad for the match against Cardiff City on Tuesday just yet.

This means Rooney, Van Persie and Fellaini could make a surprise return to the team. Newly signed in Juan Mata is also expected to be given a debut against Cardiff, which is being led by former Manchester United star Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Mata completed a 37.1 million switch from Chelsea to Manchester United last week. Therefore, an interesting attacking line could be on the field should Moyes get the opportunity to put his best players in action.

Rooney has been out of action for Manchester United since New Year’s Eve when Manchester United were defeated 2-1 by Tottenham Hotspur. Since then Rooney hasn’t able to appear in five Premier League games for Manchester United.

The probability of Manchester United’s top goal scorer from last season, Van Persie returning to the field this early is still doubtful. Van Persie, who scored 30 goals last season can account for only two appearances over the last three months. The Dutchman’s thigh problem has kept him on the bench for 11 games.

Fellaini has so far found it difficult to settle down at Manchester United. Poor form and injuries have kept him from seeing serious action. The Belgian midfielder is recovering from a wrist injury and is expected to be back on the field soon.

“They have all trained,” said Moyes. “Juan [also] trained and I'll make a decision.”

Mata’s arrival has left a shadow of doubt on the future of Manchester United’s young star Adnan Januzaj. Moyes claims he will continue to use Januzaj since he has been in impressive form this season.

“We'll continue to use Adnan. He's played well and is very much part of the what we're doing and will continue to be like that,” Moyes added.
