| TEAM | Rank | Why? |

32 | In my opinion, the Browns are the weakest overall team. Defensively, they have a bad secondary, average linebackers, and a lackluster d-line. Plus, problems at WR and QB; and having Jamal Lewis as the RB doesn't make the offense attractive. |
![]() |
31 | Sure, the Raiders do have a pretty good defense. But that awful offense from last year really isn't any different. They didn't do much to that horrible line, they still lack a running game, and their #1 pick doesn't even want to play for them. Not good for Raider nation. |

30 | A lot of questions offensively. An average at best line, no receivers, Joey Harrington, and an aging Dunn is bad for this offense. They better hope Norwood becomes great. Average D as well. |
![]() |
29 | The Bills lost half their D over the offseason. They have very weak LB's and CB's, and a mediocre DL minus Schobel. Plus, a bad O-line, rookie RB, and only one receiver that is worth anything. |
![]() |
28 | The defense is young and could be solid by seasons' end, but they aren't there yet. Offensively, they still have o-line issues, only one receiver, RB questions, and an unproven QB. |
![]() |
27 | The Titans have one of the worst offenses in football. They have a mediocre O-line, bad receivers, and their best RB isn't even a RB. Defensively, they're average at best. |
![]() |
26 | They still have a bad run blocking line, and James isn't getting any younger. Only so much the passing game can do. Plus, they have a terrible secondary minus Wilson, mediocre linebackers, and an average at best d-line. |
![]() |
25 | The Giants lost their best offensive playmaker in Tiki Barber. The concerns in the running game won't be good for the passing offense, plus they have a bad secondary, average linebackers, and little at DT. |
![]() |
24 | Offensive line is much improved and healthy, and they look to have a pretty good passing game. Bell isn't bad as a RB either. Defensively, the secondary blows, and the linebackers suck, save Sims. DL isn't bad though. |
![]() |
23 | Offense still has a lot of question marks. Line looks bad, receivers aren't great, who knows which Cadillac we get. Defense isn't bad, but don't expect much from them. |
![]() |
22 | Linebackers are pretty good; D-line has Taylor and nothing else. Secondary is horrible. Offense line isn't anything special, which bodes badly for the speedster that is Trent Green. They need a lot from Ronnie Brown. |
![]() |
21 | Their defense doesn't look too bad actually, except for the safeties, which look awful. Lack of a running game looks to be the biggest issue on offense, they better hope Jackson makes a fast impact |
![]() |
20 | Defense has its ups and downs. Ups, great defensive tackles, solid safeties, alright corners. Downs, lackluster DE's and linebackers. Running game looks to be good, passing game looks...terrible. |
![]() |
19 | Offense has potential, but can Gore do it again and can the passing game become decent? Defensive line is terrible; they'll need those linebackers to really make up for it. Secondary is alright. |
![]() |
18 | For the first time I can remember, the Chiefs D is the strong point. Solid D-line, good linebackers, solid corners, average safeties. Offensive line is weakened a lot, no receivers, and I think Larry Johnson will be tired. |
![]() |
17 | Pete Kendall makes a good line even better. I really like what the RB punch of Portis and Betts can do. Campbell looks alright; he has some solid targets for the passing game. Defensive line has issues, but the rest of the D looks pretty good. |
![]() |
16 | Offensive line worries me a bit, and I still wonder if either Williams or Foster can be successful. Passing game still has Steve Smith, they'll be fine. Defense is pretty good in the front 7, but the lackluster safeties are a concern. |
![]() |
15 | Defense looks pretty good, although the corners concern me a bit. Running game should be pretty good, but can that lackluster pass blocking line give Ben R. time to find his alright group of receivers? |
![]() |
14 | Offensive line is good but not great. They don't have a real #1 WR, so they need Alexander to be great again. Defensively, they look fairly good all around, really like the linebacker punch of Tatupu and Peterson. |
![]() |
13 | Sure, the Rams D isn't really any good. The secondary is bad, linebackers are average, D-line is OK. But the O is great. Fairly good O-line, great receivers, great RB, solid TE, great QB. No D in the NFC can stop this offense IMO. |
![]() |
12 | They're the AFC version of the Rams, minus a TE. Great offense all around, bad secondary, ok linebackers, average at best defensive line. |
![]() |
11 | Don't sleep on the Jets. Young O-line can only get better, Thomas Jones makes the running game and passing game a lot better. Pretty good defense from top to bottom as well. |
![]() |
10 | Jaguars D looks like a top 5 defense easily. Great defensive tackle, ok ends, pretty good linebackers, solid corners. Biggest problem is the safeties. Offensively, they lack a passing game, but have a pretty good O-line and a great run game. |
![]() |
9 | Defense is pretty weak at linebacker, but pretty good everywhere else on D. Offensive line is solid, and if they consistently run with Westbrook, they have a good all around offense even without a real #1 receiver. |
![]() |
8 | Defense is still absurdly good, as they only lost one starter. (Although Thomas was great). Offense is the concern. Line isn't bad, they need McGahee to step up, although he can't be worse than Lewis. Passing game, meh. |
![]() |
7 | They took a step back last year defensively, losing two key linebackers inside. Not to mention they have nothing at safety. Offensive line is still great, and they still have Tomlinson, although they could use a WR stepping up. (Jackson perhaps?) |
![]() |
6 | No reason for the Cowboys offense not to be really good. Two good running backs, solid line, two very good receivers, solid QB and TE. Defense overall looks solid as well. |
![]() |
5 | Offensive line is solid, Bush should improve at RB, plus Deuce is solid. Receivers are ok, TE isn't bad, QB is great. Defense still has a few questions, but they did improve over the offseason with a few key signings. |
![]() |
4 | No reason for the Bears defense not to be better. Same great crew, plus Darwin Walker and Archuleta. O-Line is solid and receivers aren't bad, but they need a consistent running attack from Benson. (And Grossman needs to learn to take a snap) |
![]() |
3 | Yes, the Broncos. Defense looks great, Bly and Bailey is a fantastic CB punch, plus solid safeties, pretty good linebackers, and a serviceable line gives them a great D. Henry with that great O-line will give them a great running game, which will open up success for the solid passing game they possess. |
![]() |
2 | The Colts are absolutely stacked on offense, even after losing Tarik Glenn. This could be another 40+ TD year for that passing game. Defense does look pretty bad, but if Bob Sanders can actually stay healthy, he makes them a whole lot better. |
![]() |
1 | On paper, no team looks better. They have a great defensive line, great linebackers, and a pretty good secondary with Samuel playing. Offensively, they have a great line, a promising Maroney, and an improved passing game, even if Moss and Stallworth don't live up to potential. |
Of course, over the course of the year these will continue to change, as the unpredictable season goes along. Who are at the top of your power rankings? Answer in the poll below, on Thursday we'll reveal FanIQ's power rankings as voted on by you.
