Murray State vs. Colorado State [Game info and open thread]
About Murray State:
The Racers come into the tournament with a 30-1 record and the best winning percentage in the nation. Their only loss came in early February to Tennessee State. Murray State wasn't tested often this season--they beat just four tournament teams all season--but they sure were impressive along the way. Isaiah Canaan is a legitimate All-American candidate who can light up the scoreboard in a hurry. The junior averages 19.2 points per game and shoots an impressive 47 percent on three pointers. If there is one place where the Racers are susceptible it is on the glass, as the finished 237th in the nation in rebounding.
About Colorado State:
The Rams (20-11) were one of the more questionable selections by the NCAA Tournament Committee. In fact, a lot of people were downright surprised to see Colorado State in the field. However, the Rams finished fourth in a very strong Mountain West Conference and boast played an impressive schedule. In fact, they have more wins over tournament teams (five: Montana, Colorado, San Diego State, New Mexico and UNLV) than the Racers. Guards Dorian Green and Wes Elkmeier are responsible for the lion's share of the Rams' scoring. Just like the Racers, Colorado State struggles on the boards, where they finished 300th nationally.
